Refuge Kids
What to Expect
When visiting Refuge, you will enter through the foyer near the Sanctuary. This is the location of the Refuge Kids Check in station. Here, you will check in with the Refuge Kids volunteer before entering the sanctuary, where your child will worship alongside you. We see this as a vital part of the community to have adults and children worshiping together.
Once the first worship set is over, the kids will be dismissed to the foyer where they will find their designated teachers holding signs indicating each class. Teachers will lead children to their classrooms and back to the foyer/cafe for pick up after the service.
What our students are learning:
We are currently teaching the Bible with The Gospel Project. The Gospel Project’s hope is to nurture disciples from Preschool to Adulthood. God’s gospel plan unfolds from Genesis to Revelation, and our studies help participants of all ages study the Bible in an age-appropriate way. The children will see Jesus from the Old Testament to the New Testament. Our prayer is that your children leave Sunday with an understanding of who God is and his redemptive plan for all of creation through the work of Jesus Christ.
What our partnership looks like:
Each week you will receive an email with an overview of what the kids learned, as well as a link to The Gospel Project resource for an At Home study.
We encourage you to look at the material to encourage follow up conversations and review what truths your child learned on Sunday. It’s important the kids are hearing the gospel throughout the week.
Deuteronomy 6:6-9 states, “and these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.”
Our prayer is together we follow these commands of the Lord and the children will see Jesus in their everyday lives.
